Santa Fe de Antioquia
You enjoy the wonderful scenery on the way almost as much as the historic town of Santa Fe de Antioquia, where you will enjoy a fantastic guided tour through this beautiful town. But first, you'll be traveling through the longest tunnel in Latin America to reach a cable car ride (actually 4). You'll voyage over valleys full of lush vegetation, rivers, and wonderful Colombian farms of avocado, coffee, maize, onion, and fruit.
Next, you carry on to the Western Suspension Bridge; made by the same engineer associated with the Brooklyn Bridge, this is among the oldest bridges in Colombia and proclaimed a National Monument in 1976. Today it is the third biggest suspension bridge in Latin America and the eighth biggest globally.
Your last stop on your adventure is a walking tour of Santa Fe de Antioquia; the first capital of Antioquia and the location for both the planning and signing of the independence of Antioquia. It was declared a national monument in 1960, for that reason its 300-year-old houses cannot be modified making it the best-preserved community to appreciate colonial-style architecture in Colombia. During your walking tour, you’ll visit the most important places such as the Santa Barbara Church, Metropolitan Cathedral, Mariscal Robledo, Museum of Juan de Corral, and Chiquinquirá Church.
After your tour is complete we head back to Medellin in our comfy air-conditioned car.
