You’ll journey through some of the most beautiful Antioquia countryside filled with wonderful views in every direction towards one of the charming coffee culture towns in Colombia. Jerico is one of 17 heritage-listed towns scattered throughout Colombia, and with the completion of a new tunnel, this wonderful little town surrounded by lush mountains is now only a 1.5-hour drive from Medellín.

Before you even arrive at your destination you’ll be stopping for a magical view and a photo opportunity of one of the most beautiful valleys you’ll ever see. Filled with rich farmlands, grand forests, and encircled with imposing mountains, you’ll absolutely love the natural beauty of this area.

Next, it’s a short ride into Jerico and your first stop at a hill overlooking this town called Morro El Salvador. Here you’ll discover a giant Statue of Christ watching down on the residents far below, along with another wonderful photo opportunity for you.

Your 2nd stop in this colorful little town will be Los Balsos Botanical Gardens. Although only a small garden this space will provide you with a true sense of peace and relaxation, while walking along the stone path, and crossing small bridges, designed for the sole purpose of providing you pleasure.

Following this, you’ll continue to a workshop and museum of the stunning leather handbag called the carriel. Here you’ll not only get the opportunity to purchase one of the finest handmade leather products of this region, but you’ll also get to view the intense and hard work that goes into creating this functional piece of wearable art.

By now you’ll be feeling a bit peakish and will enjoy stopping for a wonderful lunch at one of the many restaurants that border the colorful town plaza.

Your last stop in this small mountain pueblo (town), filled with warm welcoming, smiling inhabitants, you’ll make one more stop at Saint Laura's house. This is the original home of Saint Laura (Colombia’s first saint, Sister - Saint Laura Montoya), and has been converted into a convent and museum.
