A city tour can never really be comprehensive without the understanding of the metropolitan layout of where you have just toured through. And what better way to understand the plan of the city, than to fly high above it? Paraglide, high above it, to be exact.

Starting your day with an 8 am collection from your Bucaramanga hotel you’ll be guided to the most important and attractive parts of this beautiful city. With over half a million inhabitants and more than 160 parks scattered throughout the city, Bucaramanga is known as “La Ciudad de Los Parques” (The city of Parks). You’ll visit the city center, which has a number of colonial buildings such as the house of Simon Bolivar, which has been converted into a museum depicting the exploits of the great liberator of Colombia, along with the history of the Santander region and the Guane Indians who once ruled this land. You’ll also get to stop by the leather shoe outlets that export their high-quality products throughout the world. Furthermore, in this 1st part of today’s tour, you’ll also be passing by the largest hanging bridge in Colombia.

Continuing your journey of these great metropoles’ you’ll be traveling the short distance to Giron. Known for its Spanish colonial architecture of whitewashed buildings, large wooden doors, cobblestone streets, and clay-tiled roofs. Giron was declared a National Heritage Monument in 1963; one of only 17 Colombian towns to have this honor. You’ll visit wonderful sites, along with some well-preserved colonial buildings, you’ll discover the beautiful 15th-century church Basilica San Juan Bautista.

After your trip through the colonial town of Giron, you’ll travel a short distance to embark on the next high-altitude part of your tour from a paragliding platform located on a hill close to the city. From this platform, with an elevation of 1000 feet (300 m) you’ll appreciate a wonderful view of the metropolitan area far below. Once you’ve met your certified pilot and received your safety instructions, you’ll be all set to take off on your 10–15-minute tandem paragliding flight with some simply spectacular views of the valley and the complete metropolitan city within.
