Your tour of wonderful experiences and spectacular views from both land and Paragliding through the air will begin with a 7 am pickup from your Bucaramanga hotel and a drive into the majestic Chicamocha Canyon. Although this is the 2nd largest canyon in the world, it is over 125 miles in length (200 km) and from the river to its tallest peak approximately 1.25 miles (2000 m) in height. This great depth is actually grander than that of the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

You’ll travel for approximately 1.5 hours to reach the paragliding platform at an altitude of 1740 m.a.s.l. A private platform, and the highest in the entire canyon. After meeting your professional certified pilot and receiving your safety instructions you’ll be taking off for approximately a 20 min flight high over the canyon far below. If weather conditions are in your favor you’ll be cruising at approximately 2000 m.a.s.l. with spectacular views.

Once you’ve come back down to the ground and the adrenaline has subsided a little you’ll climb into your private transport for a short drive to PANCHI (the Chicamocha National Park). Once here you’ll enjoy a walking tour of this grand park that you have just seen from high above. Your tour will include the Guane museum, where you’ll learn about the history of the small town and the Guane Indians. A giant tobacco leaf, which is a monument to the Comuneros Movement, an uprising that took place before the rebellion of Simon Bolivar and attributed to the start of the revolt that finally saw the Spanish leave Colombia in 1819.

Once you’ve enjoyed your time at this one-of-a-kind park, you’ll start your journey back to Bucaramanga, climbing into one of the 38 cable cars that travel along this 6.3km (3.9mi) track, down 4000ft (1.2km) to the Chicamocha River in the sole of the Chicamocha Canyon, and up again the other side of the canyon to the Mesa de Los Santos, to meet your waiting for transportation and your relaxing ride back to Bucaramanga.
