Giron, Bucaramanga and Santísimo Full Day Tour

Starting your day with a 9 am collection from your Bucaramanga hotel you’ll be guided to the most important and attractive parts of this beautiful city. With over half a million inhabitants and more than 160 parks scattered throughout the city, Bucaramanga is known as “La Ciudad de Los Parques” (The city of Parks). You’ll visit the city center, which has a number of colonial buildings such as the house of Simon Bolivar, which has been converted into a museum depicting the exploits of the great liberator of Colombia, along with the history of the Santander region and the Guane Indians who once ruled this land. You’ll also get to stop by the leather shoe outlets that export their high-quality products throughout the world. Furthermore, in this 1st part of today’s tour, you’ll also be passing by the largest hanging bridge in Colombia.

Continuing your journey of these great metropoles’ you’ll be traveling the short distance to Giron. Known for its Spanish colonial architecture of whitewashed buildings, large wooden doors, cobblestone streets, and clay-tiled roofs. Giron was declared a National Heritage Monument in 1963; one of only 17 Colombian towns to have this honor. You’ll visit wonderful sites, along with some well-preserved colonial buildings, you’ll discover the beautiful 15th-century church Basilica San Juan Bautista.

To complete your 3-part tour, you’ll be traveling through Floridablanca to arrive at the Hacienda La Esperanza. Surrounded by lush vegetation, this is where you’ll be changing transportation for a cable car up to Cerro del Santisimo, passing over and through more beautiful landscape. When you disembark from this short 6-minute ride you’ll find yourself at the entrance of the Eco Park Cerro del Santísimo. Once here you’ll appreciate an amazing view over the entire metropolitan area. You’ll also get the chance to enjoy magical panoramic sights from a viewing platform above Santísimo, a grand sculpture of Christ with a height of 37m (121ft).
